Iowa

the
department
of
public
health
to

reimbursed

physicians
licensed
pursuant

and

by
the

implement

administer
this

This
bill
relates
to
the
reimbursement
of
resident

physicians
medical
liability
insurance
premiums
to
certain

hospitals
and
affiliated
nonprofit
organizations.

The
bill
provides
that
a
private
or
public
hospital
or
an

affiliated
nonprofit
organization
that
has
a
resident
physician
22
program
may
apply
to
the
department
of
public
health
to
be
23
reimbursed
for
the
cost
of
the
medical
liability
insurance
24
premiums
attributed
to
an
employed
resident
physician,
licensed
25
pursuant
to
Code
section
148.5,
of
the
hospital
or
affiliated
26
nonprofit
organization.
The
department
of
public
health
may
27
adopt
rules
to
implement
and
administer
the
bill.

The
bill
does
not
apply
to
hospitals
to
which
Code
chapter
29
669
(state
tort
claims)
applies.
