H.F. 654 Section 1. DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES STRATEGIC 1 PLAN —— RENEWABLE ENERGY USAGE IN STATE BUILDINGS AND 2 FACILITIES. The department of administrative services shall 3 develop a strategic plan regarding the feasibility, timeline, 4 and costs of implementing or expanding renewable energy usage 5 in state buildings and facilities. The strategic plan shall 6 give precedence to the implementation or expansion of renewable 7 energy usage in state buildings and facilities with the 8 highest annual energy usage, as identified by the department. 9 The department shall submit a report on the strategic plan, 10 including any recommendations, to the general assembly by 11 January 1, 2020. 12 EXPLANATION 13 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 14 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 15 This bill requires the department of administrative 16 services (DAS) to develop a strategic plan regarding the 17 implementation or expansion of renewable energy usage in state 18 buildings and facilities. The plan shall give precedence to 19 the implementation or expansion of renewable energy usage in 20 buildings and facilities with the highest annual energy usage. 21 The DAS shall submit a report on the plan, including any 22 recommendations, to the general assembly by January 1, 2020. 23 -1- LSB 1376HH (1) 88 gh/rn 1/ 1
