AMBULANCE SERVICE PROVIDERS == MEDICAID 1 2 REIMBURSEMENT. The department of human services shall adopt 1 3 administrative rules to provide a reimbursement methodology 1 4 for ambulance service providers enrolled in the Medicaid 1 5 program, under both fee=for=service and managed care plans, 1 6 that utilizes the Medicare ambulance reimbursement methodology 1 7 for ground transportation, including reimbursement for mileage 1 8 at the same rate as under the Medicare program or a comparable 1 9 private insurance rate, and that considers the rural or urban 1 10 nature of the transport. 1 11 EXPLANATION 1 12 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 13 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 14 This bill directs the department of human services to adopt 1 15 rules to provide a reimbursement methodology for ambulance 1 16 service providers enrolled in the Medicaid program, under 1 17 both fee=for=service and managed care plans, that utilizes 1 18 the Medicare ambulance reimbursement methodology for ground 1 19 transportation, including reimbursement for mileage at the same 1 20 rate as under the Medicare program or a comparable private 1 21 insurance rate, and that considers the rural or urban nature 1 22 of the transport.
