1.
Section
123.32,
Code
2021,
is
amended
by
adding
1
the
following
new
subsection:

NEW
SUBSECTION
.
4A.
Alcohol
server
training.
A
local
3
authority,
as
a
condition
of
obtaining
and
holding
a
license
4
or
permit
for
on-premises
or
off-premises
consumption,
may
5
require
that
one
or
more
employees
of
an
applicant,
licensee,
6
or
permittee
who
serve
alcohol
be
trained
in
state
laws
7
and
regulations
regarding
the
sale
of
alcoholic
beverages
8
to
persons
under
legal
age,
recognition
of
fake
or
altered
9
identification,
and
other
information
on
state
laws
and
10
regulations
applicable
to
the
serving
of
alcohol
at
a
licensed
11
premises.
Such
training
may
include
the
alcohol
compliance
12
employee
training
program
developed
pursuant
to
section
123.50A

if
available.

bill
authorizes
a
local
authority,
as
a
condition

of
obtaining
and
holding
a
license
or
permit
for
on-premises

consumption
of
alcohol,
to
require
that

or
more
employees
of
an
applicant,
licensee,
or
permittee
21
who
serve
alcohol
be
trained
in
state
laws
and
regulations

regarding
the
sale
of
alcoholic
beverages
to
persons
under

legal
age,
recognition
of
fake
or
altered
identification,
and
24
other
information
on
state
laws
and
regulations
applicable
to
25
the
serving
of
alcohol
at
a
licensed
premises.
