Section
1.
CHILD
CARE
PROVIDER
REIMBURSEMENT

RATES.
Effective
July
1,
2021,
for
child
care
providers
2
reimbursed
under
the
state
child
care
assistance
program,
3
the
department
of
human
services
shall
set
the
reimbursement
4
rates
of
those
providers
for
whom
the
reimbursement
rate
is
5
below
such
percentile
at
the
fiftieth
percentile
of
the
most
6
recent
market
rate
survey
completed
prior
to
July
1,
2021.
The
7
department
shall
also
adjust
quality
rating
system
bonuses
to
8
reflect
the
increased
child
care
provider
reimbursement
rates
9
as
appropriate.

EXPLANATION

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with
12
the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
provides
that
effective
July
1,
2021,
for
14
child
care
providers
reimbursed
under
the
state
child
care
15
assistance
program,
the
department
of
human
services
shall
16
set
the
reimbursement
rates
of
those
providers
for
whom
17
the
reimbursement
rate
is
below
such
percentile
at
the
50th
18
percentile
of
the
most
recent
market
rate
survey
completed
19
prior
to
July
1,
2021.
The
department
shall
also
adjust
20
quality
rating
system
bonuses
to
reflect
the
increased
child
21
care
provider
reimbursement
rates
as
appropriate.
