Section
1.
2020
EDITION
OF
THE
NATIONAL
ELECTRICAL
1
CODE.
The
electrical
examining
board
within
the
division
of
2
state
fire
marshal
of
the
department
of
public
safety
shall
3
adopt
the
2020
edition
of
the
national
electrical
code
issued
4
and
adopted
by
the
national
fire
protection
association,
with
5
no
amendments,
as
the
requirements
for
electrical
installations
6
performed
by
persons
licensed
pursuant
to
chapter
103
and
to
7
installations
subject
to
inspection
pursuant
to
chapter
103.

This
section
shall
not
be
construed
to
prohibit
the
board
from
9
adopting
a
subsequent
publication
of
the
code
pursuant
to
10
section
103.6,
subsection
1,
paragraph
“a”.

Sec.
2.
EMERGENCY
RULES.
The
electrical
examining
board
12
within
the
division
of
state
fire
marshal
of
the
department
13
of
public
safety
shall
adopt
emergency
rules
under
section
14
17A.4,
subsection
3,
and
section
17A.5,
subsection
2,
paragraph
15
“b”,
to
implement
the
provisions
of
this
Act
and
the
rules
16
shall
be
effective
immediately
upon
filing.
Any
rules
adopted
17
in
accordance
with
this
section
shall
also
be
published
as
a
18
notice
of
intended
action
as
provided
in
section
17A.4.

Sec.
3.
EFFECTIVE
DATE.
This
Act
takes
effect
January
1,
20
2022.

The
inclusion
of
this
explanation
does
not
constitute
agreement
with

the
explanation’s
substance
by
the
members
of
the
general
assembly.

This
bill
requires
the
electrical
examining
board
within

the
division
of
state
fire
marshal
of
the
department
of
public

safety
to
adopt
the
2020
edition
of
the
national
electrical
27
code.

The
bill
requires
the
electrical
examining
board
within
29
the
division
of
state
fire
marshal
of
the
department
of
30
public
safety
to
adopt
the
2020
edition
of
the
national
fire
31
protection
association’s
national
electrical
code,
with
no
32
amendments,
as
the
requirements
for
electrical
installations
33
performed
by
persons
licensed
pursuant
to
Code
chapter
103
and
34
to
installations
subject
to
inspection
pursuant
to
Code
chapter

The
bill
does
not

board
