reports.

1.
Beginning
with
the
school
year
starting
July
1,
2019,
3
the
department
shall
annually
compile
reports
on
statistics
and
4
data
relating
to
physical
education
classes
and
instruction
5
offered
by
each
school
district
as
a
whole
and
by
attendance
6
center
in
a
format
determined
by
the
department.
The
7
department
shall
make
the
reports
publicly
available
and
8
searchable
by
school
district
and
attendance
center
on
the
9
department’s
internet
site.
School
districts
and
attendance
10
centers
shall
provide
the
department
with
information
as
11
necessary
to
compile
the
reports
upon
request.

2.
Each
report
shall
include
all
of
the
following
13
information:

a.
The
number
of
students
taking
physical
education
classes
15
at
each
attendance
center.
16
b.
The
average
class
size
of
physical
education
classes
at
17
each
attendance
center.
18
c.
The
number
of
days
per
school
year
students
take
physical
19
education
classes
at
each
attendance
center.
20
d.
The
number
of
class
periods,
blocks,
or
other
applicable
21
measurement
per
week
of
physical
education
classes
at
each
22
attendance
center.

e.
The
total
minutes
of
physical
education
instruction
24
individual
students
receive
per
week
at
each
attendance
center.

f.
Whether
the
school
district
has
sufficient
equipment
and
26
facilities
per
attendance
center
and
per
student.

g.
The
frequency
of
inspection
of
physical
education
28
equipment
and
facilities.
29
h.
Whether
the
school
district
has
a
policy
that
allows
30
teachers
or
administrators
in
the
school
district
to
withhold
31
physical
activity
from
a
student
as
punishment.

i.
Whether
students
in
the
school
district
are
allowed
to
33
opt
out
of
physical
education
to
prepare
for
other
classes
or
34
standardized
tests.

This
bill
requires
the
department
of
education,
beginning
18
with
the
school
year
starting
July
1,
2019,
to
annually
compile
19
reports
on
statistics
and
data
relating
to
physical
education
20
classes
and
instruction
offered
by
each
school
district
as
a
21
whole
and
by
attendance
center
in
a
format
determined
by
the
22
department.
The
department
is
required
to
make
the
reports
23
publicly
available
and
searchable
by
school
district
and
24
attendance
center
on
the
department’s
internet
site.
The
bill
25
specifies
information
that
must
be
included
in
the
reports.

The
bill
requires
school
districts
and
attendance
centers
to

the
department
