H.F. 2271 Section 1. STATE CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE PROVIDER 1 REIMBURSEMENT —— DEFINITION OF INFANT AND TODDLER. The 2 department of human services shall amend its administrative 3 rules pursuant to chapter 17A to define “infant and toddler” 4 as a child between the ages of two weeks and three years and to 5 define “preschool child” as a child between the ages of three 6 years and school age for purposes of reimbursement rates for 7 infant and toddler child care providers reimbursed under the 8 state child care assistance program. 9 EXPLANATION 10 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 11 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 12 This bill directs the department of human services to amend 13 its administrative rules to define “infant and toddler” as a 14 child between the ages of two weeks and three years and to 15 define “preschool child” as a child between the ages of three 16 years and school age for purposes of reimbursement rates for 17 infant and toddler child care providers reimbursed under the 18 state child care assistance program. 19 -1- LSB 5916HV (2) 88 as/rh 1/ 1
