Section 231C.3, Code 2016, is amended by adding 1 2 the following new subsection: 1 3 NEW SUBSECTION. 5A. An assisted living program that is 1 4 licensed and inspected as a food establishment pursuant to 1 5 chapter 137F shall not be required to obtain an additional 1 6 license or submit to additional inspection in order to prepare 1 7 meals to be delivered off=site by another entity. 1 8 EXPLANATION 1 9 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 1 10 the explanation's substance by the members of the general assembly. 1 11 This bill provides that assisted living programs that are 1 12 licensed and inspected as a food establishment pursuant to Code 1 13 chapter 137F do not need to hold another license or submit to 1 14 additional inspection in order to prepare meals to be delivered 1 15 off=site by another entity.
