H.F. 2022 Section 1. Section 602.6404, subsection 3, Code 2022, is 1 amended by striking the subsection. 2 EXPLANATION 3 The inclusion of this explanation does not constitute agreement with 4 the explanation’s substance by the members of the general assembly. 5 This bill removes the requirement that a magistrate must 6 be a licensed attorney in the state. Under current law, a 7 magistrate has to be a licensed attorney in the state, unless 8 appointed before April 1, 2009, and reappointed in the same 9 county for subsequent successive terms. 10 -1- LSB 5195YH (1) 89 cm/jh 1/ 1
