the

assembly.

This
bill
removes
the
requirement
that
a
magistrate
must

be
a
licensed
attorney
in
the
state.
Under
current
law,
a
7
magistrate
has
to
be
a
licensed
attorney
in
the
state,
unless
8
appointed
before
April
1,
2009,
and
reappointed
in
the
same
9
county
for
subsequent
successive
terms.
