A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of THE fourteenth SENATORIAL DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $23,712,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2021-2022 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the fourteenth senatorial district, as follows:
1. Aiea Intermediate School
A. Install cover over the basketball/tennis/volleyball court areas.

B. Bus/car stop shelter.

10. Moanalua Gardens Foundation
A. Engineering services for the conceptual and construction plans of the section of road between crossings 15 and 16 of the existing four-mile Kamananui Valley Road.

SECTION 3. The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriations that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2024, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 4. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended for the purposes of this Act as follows:
(1) The sums appropriated in items (1) through (9) shall be expended by the department of education; and
(2) The sum appropriated in item (10) shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources.
SECTION 5. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2021.
