A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the eighteenth senatorial district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums or so much thereof as may be necessary to finance the projects listed in this Act are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2012-2013:
1. To be expended by the department of education:
A. Waipahu high school, Oahu
Design, planning, and construction of an all-weather, 8-lane track and field; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances
Construction $4,000,000
Total funding $4,000,000
B. Pearl City elementary school, Oahu
Design, planning, and construction for building eleven electrical service upgrade; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances
Design $ 200,000
Construction 1,800,000
Total funding $2,000,000
C. Lehua elementary school, Oahu
Campus-wide electrical upgrades to classrooms and to complete air conditioning installation for classrooms; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances
Total funding $1,114,000
D. Honowai elementary school, Oahu
Replace stairs (two locations) at building H
Design $ 40,000
Construction 150,000
Total funding $190,000
2. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. The Filipino community center, Oahu
Installation of photovoltaic solar array on roof of the Filipino community center
Total funding $450,000
SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital improvement projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. The appropriation made for the capital improvement project authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as of June 30, 2014, shall lapse as of that date.
SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.
