A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to electric vehicle charging stations.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  Chapter 421I, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§421I-    Plans to integrate electric vehicle charging stations; requirement.  (a)  Each corporation shall develop plans to integrate electric vehicle charging stations onto residential properties managed by the corporation.  The electric vehicle charging station plans shall be completed by January 1, 2030.

     (b)  Corporations shall make moneys available from their overall reserve funds for the purpose of satisfying the requirements of this section."

     SECTION 2.  Chapter 421J, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§421J-    Plans to integrate electric vehicle charging stations; requirement.  (a)  Each association shall develop plans to integrate electric vehicle charging stations onto residential properties managed by the corporation.  The electric vehicle charging station plans shall be completed by January 1, 2030.

     (b)  Associations shall make moneys available from their overall reserve funds for the purpose of satisfying the requirements of this section."

     SECTION 3.  Chapter 514B, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§514B-    Plans to integrate electric vehicle charging stations; requirement.  (a)  Each association shall develop plans to integrate electric vehicle charging stations onto residential properties managed by the corporation.  The electric vehicle charging station plans shall be completed by January 1, 2030.

     (b)  Associations shall make moneys available from their overall reserve funds for the purpose of satisfying the requirements of this section."

     SECTION 4.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 5.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
