A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO FEES.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 46, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part V to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§46-     Fee exemption for Hawaiian home lands housing.  Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, with respect to residential buildings developed by the department of Hawaiian home lands for use by beneficiaries of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act, 1920, as amended, the department shall not be required to pay any fees established by any county for applicable permits or the review of permit applications; provided that the department shall comply with applicable building, electrical, plumbing, and fire codes."

     SECTION 2.  This Act does not affect rights and duties that matured, penalties that were incurred, and proceedings that were begun before its effective date.

     SECTION 3.  New statutory material is underscored.


     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2021.
