A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to capital improvement projects FOR the benefit of the fortieth representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

     SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $37,560,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2019-2020 for the purpose of capital improvement projects for the fortieth representative district, as follows:

     To be expended by the department of education:

A.   James Campbell high school, Oahu.

Plans, design, and construction of a Title IX-compliant girls locker room.

B.   Ilima intermediate school, Oahu.

Plans, design, and construction for cafetorium renovations.

C.   Iroquois Point elementary school, Oahu.

Plans, design, and construction of a playground cover or awning.

D.   James Campbell high school, Oahu.

Plans, design, and construction of an athletic complex, including a new stadium, synthetic track, baseball and softball fields, a press box, restrooms, and a concession stand; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

     Total funding                    $25,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital improvement projects authorized by this Act shall not lapse at the end of the fiscal biennium for which the appropriation is made; provided that all moneys from the appropriation that are unencumbered as of June 30, 2022, shall lapse as of that date.

     SECTION 3.  The sum appropriated shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
