A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $          or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2022-2023 for athletics at the university of Hawaii at Manoa.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the university of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act; provided that the board of regents shall consider the review of coaching contracts greater than $200,000 and that it be able to determine if there is cause for the termination of the athletic director and head coaches.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $        or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2022-2023 for athletics at the university of Hawaii at Hilo.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the university of Hawaii for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.

Description:

Appropriates funds to the University of Hawaii at Manoa for athletics, provided that the Board of Regents considers fiscal matters pertaining to coaching contracts and the termination of certain athletic personnel for cause.  Appropriates funds to University of Hawaii at Hilo for athletics.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD2)
