A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CHILD CARE.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 346, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part VIII, subpart A, to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§346-     Records; database.  (a)  In addition to any other information required by the department pursuant to this part, persons exempt pursuant to section 346-152, licensed providers, and employees of a licensed provider shall annually provide the following information to the department:

     (1)  The person's gender;

     (2)  The person's ethnicity;

     (3)  The person's age;

     (4)  The person's number of years of paid experience in the field of child care;

     (5)  The person's preferred learning language;

     (6)  The languages spoken to the children by the person;

     (7)  The person's median hourly wage for the previous year;

     (8)  The person's hours and rate of pay for paid planning time for the previous year;

     (9)  A summary of the person's health insurance benefits or health insurance plan;

    (10)  The number of paid sick leave hours for which the person was entitled during the previous year;

    (11)  The number of paid vacation hours for which the person was entitled during the previous year;

    (12)  A summary of the person's retirement benefits;

    (13)  Whether or not the person participated in an apprenticeship program; and

    (14)  The person's level of education and credentials, certificate, and degrees, if any.

     (b)  The department shall compile the information collected pursuant to this section into a database.  The department may establish a database for this purpose or add the information to an existing database."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2060.
