RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Woodstock High School for being named an Advanced Placement Honor
School and an AP STEM Achievement School; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Woodstock High School has been named an Advanced Placement Honor School by the
Georgia Department of Education; and
WHEREAS,
Woodstock High School was also named an AP STEM (science, technology,
engineering, and math) Achievement School; and
WHEREAS,
the Advanced Placement Honor School award is based on students testing in at
least two AP math and two AP science courses, while the STEM Achievement School
award means that at least 40 percent of the AP math and science exam scores
earned a three or higher, based on a scale of five; and
WHEREAS,
AP classes offer rigorous college-level learning opportunities for high school
students who gain the ability to receive college credits through exams
administered by the College Board; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia takes great pride in the diligent study and preparation
taken by the students of Woodstock High School and looks forward in anticipation
to the great achievements this school will accomplish in the
future.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Woodstock High School on being named an Advanced Placement Honor School and an
AP STEM Achievement School and recognize the excellent contributions of the
students and staff in making their school superior.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Woodstock High School.
