RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Esai Ambo; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Esai Ambo has long been recognized for his role in leadership and his deep
personal commitment to helping those in need around the world; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ambo serves as president and CEO of Sonje Yo, Inc., an international human
rights nonprofit organization based in Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Sonje Yo implements targeted, cost-effective agricultural development programs
that improve the lives of vulnerable groups and collaborate with a wide range of
organizations to design and implement humanitarian relief and development aid
programs for communities affected by natural disasters; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ambo has devoted his life to serving others and in 2010 he helped save the
life of a young woman with mitral heart valves disease, advocating on her behalf
so that she received life-saving treatment; and
WHEREAS,
he is a contributing member of Amnesty International USA and believes that human
rights are fundamental and God given; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Ambo has been recognized with numerous honors and accolades, including the
Noble Distinguished Order of the Servant-Leader; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
Mr. Esai Ambo for his dedicated philanthropy and humanitarian
efforts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that
the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Esai Ambo.
