RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC, is one of the most efficient and productive tire
recycling facilities in the world; and
WHEREAS,
countless used and discarded rubber tires make their way to landfills each year
to spend eternity as rubber tires, since tires never decompose naturally;
and
WHEREAS,
established in 1988, Liberty Tire Recycling has recycled almost 100 million
tires from throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands;
and
WHEREAS,
Liberty Tire Recycling keeps old tires out of landfills and makes them into
products that are re-sold in the marketplace; and
WHEREAS,
the rubber from worn tires is broken down into mulch and used for other products
or as fuel in paper mills; and
WHEREAS,
the steel threading in old tires is melted down and sold; and
WHEREAS,
the success of this amazing company is due in part to the outstanding regulatory
job done by the Scrap Tire Program of the Georgia Environmental Protection
Division; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding work of this fine
company and its excellent work safeguarding the environment for future
generations be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC, for 22 years of diligent work recycling unwanted
tires into usable products and keeping tires out of Georgia's
landfills.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that
the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an
appropriate copy of this resolution to Liberty Tire Recycling, LLC.
