A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Lake Spivey Community, Inc., and Mr. James "Jim" Buckman; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Lake Spivey Community, Inc., is a nonprofit organization established in 2005 with the purpose of uniting and representing interests of the neighborhoods and homeowners in the Lake Spivey community; and

WHEREAS, created based on the idea of Mr. James "Jim" Buckman, Lake Spivey Community, Inc., serves as a forum for members of the Lake Spivey Community to voice concerns and gather with other homeowners in the area to band together on issues; and

WHEREAS, since the organization's inception, the number of households involved in Lake Spivey Community, Inc., has grown to approximately 2,700; and

WHEREAS, recently, Lake Spivey Community, Inc., earned a last line designation for the Lake Spivey community from the United States post office, which allows households within the area to use Lake Spivey in their address and differentiates them from surrounding cities; and

WHEREAS, the efforts of Lake Spivey Community, Inc., have greatly enhanced the beauty and quality of life in the Lake Spivey area, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that this organization be appropriately recognized along with its founder, Mr. Buckman.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Mr. James "Jim" Buckman and Lake Spivey Community, Inc., for its innovative and forward-thinking partnership that has allowed the Lake Spivey Community to thrive and given a voice to homeowners in the area.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit appropriate copies of this resolution to Mr. James "Jim" Buckman and Lake Spivey Community, Inc.
