RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Miss Lindsey Marie Mann, 2009 Georgia Watermelon Queen; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Miss Lindsey Marie Mann of Tifton, Georgia, was recently selected as the 2009
Georgia Watermelon Queen by the Georgia Watermelon Association, and, in Lindsey,
the association found a deserving queen and a talented, beautiful, and
accomplished young woman; and
WHEREAS,
Miss Mann, the 20-year-old daughter of Bill and Sheree Mann, is attending the
University of Georgia, where she is an accounting major; and
WHEREAS,
as Georgia Watermelon Queen, Lindsey is the official spokesperson for the
Georgia Watermelon Association, and she will make many appearances this year
across the state on behalf of Georgia´s watermelon industry and as an
ambassador for the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Lindsey is listed on Abraham Baldwin College's distinguished achievement list
and has been on the President's List every year for maintaining a 3.98 grade
point average; and
WHEREAS,
with her poise, beauty, and intelligence, she is sure to be an exemplary
representative of agriculture and the watermelon industry in
Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Miss Lindsey Marie Mann on her selection as the
2009 Georgia Watermelon Queen and for her many achievements and outstanding
representation of the State of Georgia and its agricultural
heritage.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Lindsey
Marie Mann.
