RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Loganville High School baseball team on winning the 2008 Class AAAA State
Championship and inviting the team to appear before the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through perseverance, countless hours of practice, and unyielding determination,
the Loganville High School baseball team earned the top ranking in this state
with their victorious outing at the Class AAAA State Championship Tournament;
and
WHEREAS,
the Loganville Red Devils earned the school's first state title after sweeping
Region 4 champions Griffin High School in the finals; and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents;
and the astute direction of Head Coach Jeff Segars and assistant coaches Brandon
Anglin, Bran Mills, Mike Ryan, and Brad Boleman; and
WHEREAS,
the 2008 team graduated 11 seniors who all continued their education in college,
and three players signed baseball scholarships; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate the Loganville High School baseball team for winning the
2008 Class AAAA State Championship and extend their sincerest best wishes for
future success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the players and coaches of the Loganville High School
baseball team are hereby invited to appear before the House of Representatives
at a date and time to be fixed by the Speaker of the House for purposes of being
recognized by the House and receiving an appropriate copy of this resolution.
