A RESOLUTION

Commending Mrs. Leigha Burnham, Armuchee High School's 2010 STAR Teacher; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most important objective of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Leigha Burnham has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in the teaching profession and her deep personal commitment to the education of the students of Georgia; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Burnham has earned distinction for teaching excellence as a result of her dedication to her students and her profession and has been honored as Armuchee High School's 2010 STAR Teacher; and

WHEREAS, this outstanding advanced placement language arts teacher was chosen as Armuchee High School's 2010 STAR Teacher by Armuchee's 2010 STAR Student Lauren Collins; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of her contributions to the education and welfare of young people in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding individual.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend heartily Mrs. Leigha Burnham, Armuchee High School's 2010 STAR Teacher, and express to her their most sincere best wishes for continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Leigha Burnham.
