A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Ms. Daisy Mae Johnson on the occasion of her 100th birthday; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Ms. Daisy Mae Johnson was born on April 12, 1912, in Columbia County, Georgia; and

WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Ms. Johnson is an active member of Cobb Grove Baptist Church where she is involved in the missionary department; and

WHEREAS, she enjoys fishing and wearing fine clothes and through hard work she motivates herself and those around her to do their best; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Johnson was united in love and marriage to the late Tober Morris and through this union they were blessed with two remarkable children, Hattie Crenshaw and John Morris, and one wonderful godson, Tober Morris, Jr.; and

WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has been an excellent role model and given inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and

WHEREAS, a kind and generous woman, Ms. Johnson brings joy and happiness to her many friends, neighbors, and family members who have the great pleasure of knowing her; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Johnson has witnessed dramatic changes in the world over the course of her lifetime and we salute her contribution to its progress by her own hard work and good citizenship; and

WHEREAS, by the example she has made of her life, Ms. Johnson makes this world a better place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her life.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Ms. Daisy Mae Johnson for her unselfish, dedicated, and loving service to the members of her family, church, and the citizens of her community and state, congratulate her on the remarkable occasion of her 100th birthday, and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and happiness.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Daisy Mae Johnson.
