RESOLUTION
Commending
Cheryl Rees, the 2010 Kendrick High School Teacher of the Year; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most
important objective of the General Assembly; and
WHEREAS,
dedication and diligence by committed teachers foster excellence in education,
and the educators of the Muscogee County School District have always represented
the epitome of education standards in Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the annual Teacher of the Year awards are made by local school districts in
recognition of teaching excellence; and
WHEREAS,
Cheryl Rees has earned distinction for teaching excellence as a result of her
dedication to her students and her profession and has been honored as the 2010
Kendrick High School Teacher of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
the Columbus delegation of this body extends to Cheryl Rees their heartfelt
appreciation for her dedication, sacrifice, and unyielding commitment to
providing Muscogee County students with the best education available in this
state; and
WHEREAS,
although these challenging economic times have burdened our educators with
increased class sizes, budget cuts, and furloughs, Cheryl Rees has demonstrated
extraordinary efforts to continue to challenge and uplift her students; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition of her contributions to the education and welfare of young people
in this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the
remarkable accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding
individual.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend heartily Cheryl Rees, the 2010 Kendrick High School Teacher of
the Year, and express to her sincere best wishes for continued
success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Cheryl Rees.
