RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Ann Louise Houston on the occasion of her 80th birthday; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Ann Louise Houston was born on March 30, 1932, in Atlanta, Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
she attended Howard High School and Poro Beauty Culture College;
and
WHEREAS,
she worked as a beautician for many years, then changed careers and dedicated 30
years of service to the clinical research division at Emory University Hospital;
and
WHEREAS,
she joined the Bowden Senior Center in 1999 and actively participates in the
water aerobic exercises, land fitness exercises, line dancing classes, and
sewing classes; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Ms. Houston has been an active member of
Antioch Baptist Church North for 49 years where she served on the usher board
and currently serves on the mother's board; and
WHEREAS,
she is united in love and marriage to Roy Houston, and is blessed with two
remarkable children, Stella and Willie, an adored stepdaughter, Cassandra, seven
wonderful grandchildren, and 12 extraordinary great-grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS,
a kind and generous woman, Ms. Houston brings joy and happiness to her many
friends, neighbors, and family members who have the great pleasure of knowing
her; and
WHEREAS,
by the example she has made of her life, Ms. Houston makes this world a better
place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be
appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her
life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Ms. Ann Louise Houston on the occasion of her 80th birthday
and extend to her their sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Ann
Louise Houston.
