A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Mr. Anthony "Tony" Jones; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Mr. Anthony "Tony" Jones, a dedicated teacher at Rutland High School in Macon, Georgia, is widely recognized throughout his community and the state as the personification of excellence in education; and

WHEREAS, in recognition of his outstanding dedication to academic achievement, Mr. Jones has been named the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year for both Rutland High School and the Bibb County School System; and

WHEREAS, nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young people, and Mr. Jones has, during his teaching career, exemplified the selfless dedication and professionalism which are characteristic of our finest educators; and

WHEREAS, it is appropriate that this body join in expressing appreciation to Mr. Jones for his outstanding efforts and accomplishments in professional education.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Mr. Anthony "Tony" Jones upon his selection as Teacher of the Year for Rutland High School and the Bibb County School System and express gratitude for the great credit this fine educator reflects upon the Bibb County School System and the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Anthony "Tony" Jones.
