RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Piedmont Academy's football team on their 2011 GISA State AA
Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Piedmont Academy's football team earned the top ranking in the state through
fortitude and perseverance in defeating Burke Academy by a score of 13-8;
and
WHEREAS,
Piedmont Academy's football team secured their second consecutive title as GISA
State AA Champions and are region champions for the fourth consecutive year;
and
WHEREAS,
the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding
athletic ability; the dedication and hard work; and the unity of purpose and
spirit of each member of the team, including seniors Zach Benjamin, Bobby
Mitchell, Tyler Cullum, Austin Corley, Jakey Dunagan, Daniel Leinweber, Justin
Wilson, and Seth Harvey; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the
astute direction of Head Coach Rhett Farmer; and
WHEREAS,
as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by
performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition,
it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body congratulate Piedmont Academy's football team on their 2011 GISA State
AA Championship and extend their sincerest best wishes for future
success.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Piedmont
Academy's football team.
