A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Stephens County High School skills team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Stephens County High School skills team had a great showing at the 2012 Region Skills USA competition, placing first and second in many areas; and

WHEREAS, students placed with exceptionally high marks in architectural drafting, welding, automotive services, engine building, power equipment technology, Georgia pin design, carpentry, and prepared speaking; and

WHEREAS, the students on the skills team are pursuing mastering skills that will undoubtedly add much value to their lives and the lives of others and represent the future of this state; and

WHEREAS, the Stephens County High School skills team will represent Stephens County with honor in the state competition; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team and the astute leadership of CTAE Director Kathie Wilson; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this team be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Stephens County High School skills team on their success at the 2012 Region Skills USA competition and extend to them their sincere best wishes for the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Stephens County High School skills team.
