RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Officer Jeff Rodgers; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Officer Jeff Rodgers has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for
the vital role that he has played in leadership and his deep personal commitment
to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
this dedicated public servant has diligently and conscientiously devoted 16
years of his time, talents, and energy to improving the lives of his fellow
citizens as evidenced by his superlative service with the Department of Public
Safety; and
WHEREAS,
Officer Rodgers began his career in February of 1996 as a Georgia State Patrol
dispatcher in Conyers, Georgia, and later transferred to the Capitol Police
Division; and
WHEREAS,
the Capitol Police Division at the Department of Public Safety is tasked with
the responsibility of providing primary law enforcement and security duties for
the Georgia state capitol, the Coverdell Legislative Office Building, the
judicial building, and all other GBA state owned buildings located on Capitol
Hill; and
WHEREAS,
the Capitol Police Division joins with the United States Marine Corps Reserve
for the annual Toys for Tots campaign and with officers such as Jeff Rodgers,
the Capitol Police Division set a new record for collection by delivering 446
toys; and
WHEREAS,
Officer Rodgers currently works as a Patrol/Motor Officer around the Capitol
Hill complex and often assists with investigative duties when needed;
and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, and his sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state
have earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues and associates;
and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Officer Jeff Rodgers for his 16 years of outstanding,
efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to the State of Georgia
and extend to him their sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Officer Jeff
Rodgers.
