RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Ms. Shelitha Robertson; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Shelitha Robertson has long been recognized by the citizens of the United
States and Georgia for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her
deep personal commitment to the welfare of others; and
WHEREAS,
she has served ten years as an Atlanta police officer; and
WHEREAS,
she completed law school and continued to serve the citizens of Atlanta as an
assistant public defender, protecting the rights of indigent individuals charged
with city ordinances, misdemeanors, and felony offenses; and
WHEREAS,
she became an assistant city attorney for the City of Atlanta, responsible for
drafting laws and resolutions, advising city officials in matters that directly
affect citizens and city government, as well as litigating civil and
administrative matters in Georgia's state and appellate courts; and
WHEREAS,
her vast legal experience qualifies her to become the next Fulton County
Superior Court judge; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Robertson has enforced, defended, drafted, and interpreted the law,
diligently and conscientiously devoting 30 years of her time, talents, and
energy to public safety and the legal field; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Ms. Robertson is an active member of Greater
Piney Grove Baptist Church where she serves in the Trustee Ministry;
and
WHEREAS,
a loving and proud mother, Ms. Robertson has been blessed with two remarkable
daughters, Latessa Renee and Sabrina Renee;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Ms. Shelitha
Robertson for her efficient, effective, dedicated, and selfless service to
Atlanta and the State of Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Shelitha
Robertson.
