RESOLUTION
Honoring
the services of Dr. Phillip Lee Roberts, M.D., and recognizing the Phoebe Cancer
Center pavilion at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital as the Phillip L. Roberts,
M.D. Cancer Pavilion; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the staff and patients of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital are most grateful for
the many contributions of Dr. Phillip Lee Roberts, M.D., and would like to pay
tribute to his legacy by naming the Phoebe Cancer Center pavilion in his honor;
and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Roberts joined the Phoebe Cancer Center as Medical Director in 1990,
providing a vital service to the residents of Southwest Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
during his time with the Center, the need for state-of-the-art cancer care has
increased tremendously, and Dr. Roberts has worked tirelessly to serve his
patients at the Center and throughout the region; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Roberts has devoted his career to striving to provide a high level of
compassionate, cutting-edge, and professional care to the entire Southwest
Georgia community; and
WHEREAS,
a distinguished and respected medical professional, Dr. Roberts has chosen to
delay his retirement so that he may continue to devote his expertise to the care
of his patients and his professional support and leadership to his peer
physicians; and
WHEREAS,
Dr. Roberts's influence on the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, the Phoebe
Cancer Center, and the many patients and physicians whose lives he has touched
during his incredible career will live on through generations; and
WHEREAS,
it is appropriate that we honor Dr. Roberts for his many contributions to health
care in this state by recognizing the Phoebe Putney Cancer Center pavilion in
honor of this compassionate and gifted man of medicine.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Dr. Phillip Lee Roberts, M.D., and recognize the Phoebe Putney
Cancer Center pavilion as the Phillip L. Roberts, M.D. Cancer
Pavilion.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Phillip L.
Roberts, M.D.
