A RESOLUTION

Commending the Gilmer High School wrestling team and inviting them to be recognized by the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Gilmer High School wrestling team has an extensive winning history along with their many 2011-2012 accomplishments; and

WHEREAS, they were the Dual and Traditional State Champions in 2005, 2010, and 2011; the Traditional State Runners-up in 2006; the Dual State Champions in 2007; the Traditional State Champions in 2008; the Dual State Champions in 2012; and the AAA Traditional State Runners-up in 2012 and had seven individual placers, including Cameron Perry as an individual state champion; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; and

WHEREAS, these athletes were pushed to achieve mental and physical toughness, and Coach Sam Snider displayed astute direction, dedication, and determination; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent team performed with precision throughout the season, and these wrestlers have come to earn their well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, quality of play, and superior sportsmanship.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Gilmer High School wrestling team for its unparalleled achievements, extend to them their best wishes for future success, and invite them to be recognized by the House of Representatives at a date and time designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Gilmer High School wrestling team.
