A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Reverend Isaiah J. Waddy on the occasion of his 30th pastoral anniversary; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Reverend Isaiah J. Waddy received a bachelor's degree from Albany State University in 1974, a master's degree from Valdosta State University in 1986, and a master of divinity in 1987 from the Interdenominational Theological Center; and

WHEREAS, he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United States Army for three years, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans in Vietnam; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Waddy received his call to the ministry at an early age and answered the call to ordained ministry in 1980; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Waddy has been with Greater St. Peter AME Church since 1997, leading its congregation in over $75,000 in improvements without borrowing funds, opening its daycare center, and adding the Greater St. Peter Christian Academy of Excellence; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Waddy has demonstrated his commitment to teaching the Gospel, witnessing Christ through word and deed, and addressing the physical, psychological, intellectual, and spiritual needs of others; and

WHEREAS, as a minister of the Gospel, Reverend Waddy has shown the energy, devotion, and commitment truly reflective of divine guidance which has allowed the Word of God to spread throughout the community; and

WHEREAS, Reverend Waddy's guidance and inspiration have helped establish Greater St. Peter AME Church as a community presence, allowing the church to serve as an uplifting spiritual beacon of hope; and
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works rendered on behalf of persons in need.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Reverend Isaiah J. Waddy is hereby congratulated on the wonderful occasion of his 30th pastoral anniversary and commended for the leadership and guidance he has provided the members of his church and the surrounding community.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Isaiah J. Waddy.
