A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the Stratford Academy girls soccer team on winning the Class AAA State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, through perseverance and iron determination, the Stratford Academy girls soccer team earned the top ranking in the state, earning the school its first State Championship title in girls soccer since 2006; and

WHEREAS, the Eaglettes completed their impressive season with 112 goals, nine shutouts, and 15 wins; and

WHEREAS, the title-winning team consisted of talented athletes Kate Bickley, Lane Bowden, Mary Adger Bowen, Blaire Burton, Kendall Cowart, Celia Dann, Sarah Dennis, Carrie Ellen Ford, Elizabeth Fuller, Allie Hale, Katie Hale, Lauren Hale, Hope Hays, Taylor Mathis, Jasmine Pratts, Malone Slappey, Katie Stone, Haley Tidwell, Baylee Vance, and Juliana White; and

WHEREAS, Kendall Cowart, Alice Hale, Lauren Hale, Malone Slappey, and Haley Tidwell were named to both the All-region and All-state teams; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach James Jordan and coaches Jeff Hale, Andrew Myler, Heather Manting, and Dewayne Lawson; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the Stratford Academy girls soccer team for winning the Class AAA State Championship and extend their sincere best wishes for future success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit copies of this resolution to Head Coach James Jordan.
