A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Tift County 4-H Poultry Judging Team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, 4-H Clubs of Georgia provide a unique educational opportunity for students from nine to 19 years of age to learn valuable lessons outside the classroom and offer some 55 project areas in which students can develop expertise and compete with one another; and

WHEREAS, Georgia's 4-H programs are coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service of the University of Georgia College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, and this service is the major university outreach program focusing on the youth of this state; and

WHEREAS, members of the Tift County Poultry Judging Team are outstanding members of 4-H, and the team is the winner of the prestigious 2011 National 4-H Poultry Judging Championship; and

WHEREAS, members of the Tift County 4-H Poultry Judging Team are outstanding representatives of the dynamic resource this state has in its young people.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body recognize and commend 4-H members Conor Dunn, Anna Johnson, Sara Johnson, and DeAnn Taylor; Coach T. Brian Tankersley (Tift County Extension Coordinator); and Volunteer Coaches George B. Lee and Andrea Milton as a national award winning team.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Tift County 4-H Poultry Judging Team.
