RESOLUTION
Commending
Austin Edward Vest for being named the National Vice President for the
Technology Student Association and inviting him to be recognized by the House of
Representatives; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Technology Student Association (TSA) is a national, nonprofit organization
for middle and high school students with a strong interest in technology, and
over 2,000,000 students have participated since 1978; and
WHEREAS,
TSA fosters personal growth, leadership, and opportunities in technology,
innovation, design, and engineering; and
WHEREAS,
Austin Edward Vest is a senior at Fannin County High School; and
WHEREAS,
he first joined the Technology Student Association in the sixth grade and has
since served as State second Vice President from 2007 to 2008, State Treasurer
from 2009 to 2010, and State President from 2010 to 2011; and
WHEREAS,
Austin has received numerous honors, including the 2011 United States Gold
Volunteer Service Award, Fannin County Technology Student of the Year, Fannin
County High School Biology Award, Fannin County High School Math Award, Georgia
TSA First Place Graphic Design, Georgia TSA First Place Career Comparisons,
Georgia TSA First Place Leadership Challenge, National TSA Fourth Place Systems
Control Technology, 21st Century Leaders, Governors Honors nominee, and Honor
Roll; and
WHEREAS,
his achievements truly demonstrate the TSA motto, "Learning to Live In A
Technical World," and set a fine example for all those students who will
participate in this outstanding association in the years to come.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in commending Austin Edward Vest for being named the National
Vice President for the Technology Student Association, look forward to the
promising future of this outstanding young man, and invite him to be recognized
by the House of Representatives at a date and time designated by the Speaker of
the House of Representatives.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Austin Edward
Vest.
