A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending James E. and Kaye Hames Coker on the occasion of their 40th
wedding anniversary; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
James E. and Kaye Hames Coker were united in love and marriage on February 25,
1970, by Judge Luther Hames, Jr., at Kaye's parents' home, affectionately known
as "The Farm," in Marietta, Georgia, and will be celebrating their 40th wedding
anniversary this year; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. and Mrs. Coker's 40 year union and unyielding loyalty and devotion to one
another serve as an inspiration to their family, friends, and neighbors;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Coker worked in social work for six years and took time off from her career
to raise her children before returning to school to earn a master's degree in
social work from the University of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
she served as the head of the Social Work Department at the Emory Clinic for
nine years and currently works in private practice, focusing on psychotherapy;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Coker served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the
United States Army Reserves at Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and
WHEREAS,
he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and has served his
community as a State Farm Agent since 1972 and in the Snellville JC's until
1976; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. and Mrs. Coker enjoy traveling and spending time relaxing at their mountain
home in Hiawassee, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
they are the proud parents of two remarkable daughters, Jennifer and Jessica;
and
WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding they have demonstrated have provided the foundation and framework of success in which all of their family members have developed and flourished; and
WHEREAS, the devotion, patience, and understanding they have demonstrated have provided the foundation and framework of success in which all of their family members have developed and flourished; and
WHEREAS,
known for their generosity and kindness, the Cokers have made the world a better
place in which to live, with many incredible contributions to their family,
community, and state; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the Cokers be congratulated on their
many years of happiness and their magnificent 40 year commitment to each
other.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in congratulating James E. and Kaye Hames Coker on their 40th
wedding anniversary and extend their sincere best wishes for many more happy
years together.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. and Mrs.
Coker.
