A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Tiny Miss Dacula 2011 Elizabeth Kelsey; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Elizabeth Kelsey has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments and extracurricular involvement that the pursuit and attainment of excellence are within the reach of the students in this state; and

WHEREAS, a kindergartener at Dacula Elementary School, Elizabeth recently earned the prestigious title of Tiny Miss Dacula 2011; and

WHEREAS, committed to uplifting the lives of others through service to her community, Elizabeth has been an active volunteer for Dacula Elementary School with bingo nights, movie night, fall festival, curriculum night, honors night, and breakfast with Santa; and

WHEREAS, Elizabeth has also volunteered for the Gwinnett County Relay for Life, Gwinnett County Special Olympics, Little Mulberry Park's UnbeLEAFable Day, and Skylar's Run to benefit special needs children; and

WHEREAS, by the end of her reign as Tiny Miss Dacula, Elizabeth will have volunteered over 100 hours of community service and is in line to receive a gold medal from the President's Council on Civic Service and Volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, all Georgians are proud of young people who, like Elizabeth, represent the very best that this state has to offer; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and bright future of this remarkable young citizen.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Elizabeth Kelsey on being named Tiny Miss Dacula 2011 and extend to her their best wishes for her near and distant future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Tiny Miss Dacula 2011 Elizabeth Kelsey.
