BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 40-2-86.21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated,
relating to special license plates promoting certain beneficial projects and
supporting certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations, so as to
provide a special license plate supporting the prevention and treatment of
lupus; to provide that a portion of the funds generated by the sale of such
special license plate be disbursed to the Lupus Foundation of America for use in
medical and scientific research and educational programs that serve to prevent
and treat lupus; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 40-2-86.21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
special license plates promoting certain beneficial projects and supporting
certain worthy agencies, funds, or nonprofit corporations, is amended in
subsection (o) by adding a new paragraph to read as follows:
"(41)
A special license plate supporting the prevention and treatment of lupus. The
funds raised by the sale of this special license plate shall be disbursed to the
Lupus Foundation of America for use in medical and scientific research and
educational programs that serve to prevent and treat lupus. Up to 25 percent of
the funds may be utilized for continuing promotion and marketing of the license
plate."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
