Summary

A BILL to be entitled an Act to amend Article 4 of Chapter 11 of Title 16 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to dangerous instrumentalities and practices, so as to prohibit the manufacture, sale, and possession in this state of handgun ammunition that does not contain a unique code; to provide for definitions; to provide for the creation of an ammunition coding system data base to be established by the Department of Public Safety; to require the registration of manufacturers and vendors; to require the obtaining and maintenance of certain information; to provide for penalties; to provide for exceptions; to provide for a fee to fund the operation and maintenance of the data base; to provide a tax credit for the purchase of ammunition coding equipment; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
