Florida Senate - 2018 CS for SB 1082 By the Committee on Transportation; and Senator Simmons 596-03199-18 20181082c1 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to electric vehicle charging stations; 3 amending s. 318.18, F.S.; specifying a noncriminal 4 fine for the unlawful parking of a vehicle in an 5 electric vehicle charging station; amending s. 366.94, 6 F.S.; revising the penalties for the unlawful parking 7 of a vehicle in an electric vehicle charging station; 8 providing an effective date. 9 10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 11 12 Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (2) of section 13 318.18, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 14 318.18 Amount of penalties.—The penalties required for a 15 noncriminal disposition pursuant to s. 318.14 or a criminal 16 offense listed in s. 318.17 are as follows: 17 (2) Thirty dollars for all nonmoving traffic violations 18 and: 19 (a) For all violations of ss. 322.19 or 366.94s. 322.19. 20 Section 2. Paragraph (b) of subsection (3) of section 21 366.94, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 22 366.94 Electric vehicle charging stations.— 23 (3) 24 (b) If a law enforcement officer or a parking enforcement 25 specialist finds a motor vehicle in violation of this 26 subsection, the officer or specialist shall charge the operator 27 or other person in charge of the vehicle in violation with a 28 noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as provided in s. 29 318.18(2)s. 316.008(4) ors. 318.18. 30 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2018.
