Summary

Revises requirements & procedures for civil remedy notice provided to insurers & DFS; revises timeframe for insurer to pay damages or correct certain circumstances; creates duty of good faith by persons claiming against insurer; provides that insurer does not violate its good faith duty to settle claims & is not liable for certain failure if it meets certain conditions; provides limitation on insurer's liability to third-party claimants; requires insureds, claimants, or their representatives to act in good faith; revises allowable maximum medical charges; specifies information required as part of pre-suit notice in motor vehicle personal injury protection claims; requires information relating to treatment, services, & accommodations provided to claimants; requires claimants to comply with notice requirements; prohibits relief to claimants in certain circumstances.
