Section 429.55, Florida Statutes, is created to 6 read: 7 429.55 Certified medication technician program.— 8 (1) The agency, in consultation with the Department of 9 Elder Affairs and the Department of Health, shall convene a 10 group of stakeholders to develop recommendations for creating a 11 certified medication technician program that allows a staff 12 member of a qualified assisted living facility to administer 13 specified medications in an assisted living facility. The 14 recommendations must address, but are not limited to, regulatory 15 oversight, course curriculum, training provider qualifications, 16 performance standards, reporting requirements, competency 17 testing, fees, competency review, and registration requirements. 18 (2) The stakeholders invited to convene shall consist of, 19 but are not limited to, at least one representative from each of 20 the following organizations: the Florida Chapter of the Assisted 21 Living Federation of America, the Florida Assisted Living 22 Association, the Florida Health Care Association, the Assisted 23 Living Member Association, and the LeadingAge Florida. 24 (3) The agency shall submit to the Governor, the President 25 of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives a 26 report of the recommendations by November 30, 2013. 27 28 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 29 And the title is amended as follows: 30 Delete line 302 31 and insert: 32 criteria for the content; creating s. 429.55, F.S.; 33 requiring the Agency for Health Care Administration, 34 in consultation with the Department of Elderly Affairs 35 and the Department of Health, to convene a group of 36 specified stakeholders to develop recommendations for 37 creating a certified medication technician program; 38 providing requirements for the recommendations; 39 requiring the agency to submit to the Governor and the 40 Legislature a report of the recommendations by a 41 specified date; amending s. 430.80, F.S.;
