COMMENDING THE DELAWARE STATE DENTAL SOCIETY ON THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF ITS EIGHTH ANNUAL GIVE KIDS A SMILE PROGRAM, AND RECOGNIZING ITS CONTINUING EFFORTS. |
WHEREAS, on February 4, 2011, the Delaware State Dental Society (DSDS) will hold its eighth annual Give Kids a Smile Program, and
WHEREAS, this Give Kids a Smile Program was considered a rousing success by its organizers, having served over 1,210 children in Delaware and involved over 128 volunteers and 7 organizations in 2010, and
WHEREAS, 17 Dentists, 24 hygienists, 11 technicians, 13 auxiliary staff, 27 Del Tech Students volunteered in 2010; and
WHEREAS, through the Give Kids a Smile Program, the DSDS was able to provide $50,085.00 in free dentistry
Services to Delaware's kids in 2010; and
WHEREAS, Patterson Dental has donated $6,900.00 in equipment and supplies; and
WHEREAS, the DSDS has plans to build on last year's success by adding more sites in the future, modifying its volunteer schedule, and hosting an after event for the Program's participants; and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose and intent of the Senate in adopting this resolution to support the DSDS in its efforts to help Delaware's children;
NOW THEREFORE:
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Senate the 146th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that the Delaware State Dental Society is commended for the achievements of the Eighth Annual Give Kids a Smile Program and the Senate and House of Representatives wish them continuing success in their Eighth Annual Program scheduled for February 4, 2011.
BE IT RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Resolution be prepared and presented to the Delaware State Dental Society upon its passage.
