147th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 57

COMMENDING THE CLASS OF 2013-2014 EAGLE SCOUTS FOR HAVING ATTAINED THE HIGHEST RANK ONE CAN EARN IN THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA.



WHEREAS, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a young man must earn Merit Badges in areas including First Aid, Citizenship in the Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Personal Fitness, Emergency Preparedness/Lifesaving, Environmental Sciences, Personal Management, and Swimming/Hiking/Camping; and

WHEREAS, this distinct honor requires fulfilling requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor preparedness, as well as advancing through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life; and

WHEREAS, this achievement carries with it a special significance both within Scouting and beyond as an Eagle Scout moves on to higher education, business or industry, and the world at large; and

WHEREAS, the following Delawareans achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, joining the likes of former President Gerald Ford, the Honorable Sam Nunn, Neil Armstrong, Sam Walton, and Steven Spielberg:

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 147th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House concurring therein, that the class of 2013-2014 Eagle Scouts is hereby extended congratulations on attaining the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, and our best wishes in their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon passage, a copy of this Resolution shall be given to each Eagle Scout.


SYNOPSIS

This Resolution honors the class of 2013-2014 Eagle Scouts for having attained the highest rank one can earn in the Boy Scouts of America.
