147th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 48

WELCOMING BRAEDEN QUINN MANNERING TO THE 147TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND COMMENDING HIM FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE STATE OF DELAWARE, IN HIS NON-PROFIT DONATION-SUPPORTED 3B'S: BRAE'S BROWN BAG PROJECT.



WHEREAS, Braeden Quinn Mannering established the non-profit organization 3B's: Brae's Brown Bag Project at the age of 9 in July 2013; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Mannering is a Delaware native, having been born in Newark, Delaware on October 12, 2003, and currently residing in Bear, Delaware; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Mannering attends 4th Grade at Keene Elementary School and, aside from school and managing the 3B's project, enjoys writing short stories, swimming, and creating his own Pokémon cards and comics book; and

WHEREAS, in 2013 Braeden won the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge and was honored at The White House for the Kids' State Dinner; and

WHEREAS, during his return, he pondered First Lady Obama's question on how he was going to "pay it forward" and originated his idea of the donation-supported 3B's: Brae's Brown Bag Project; and

WHEREAS, his service to the State of Delaware has not gone unnoticed, as he is receiving the Governor's Youth Volunteer Service Award, this year, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Mannering is an exceptional role model for Delawareans of all ages;

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the 147th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, that the members do hereby honor Braeden Quinn Mannering for his distinguished and innovative service to those less fortunate in the State of Delaware.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the members do hereby extend their gratitude and warm wishes on Mr. Mannering's bright future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this Senate Concurrent Resolution be presented to Braeden Quinn Mannering upon its enactment by the General Assembly.


SYNOPSIS

This resolution commends and honors Braeden Quinn Mannering for his inspiring and outstanding service to those less fortunate in the State of Delaware.
