SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 45

CONGRATULATING THE CLASS OF 2018-2019 EAGLE SCOUTS FOR HAVING ATTAINED THE HIGHEST RANK ONE CAN EARN IN THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA.

WHEREAS, to earn the rank of Eagle Scout, a young man must earn Merit Badges in areas including First Aid, Citizenship in Community, Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Communications, Personal Fitness, Emergency Preparedness/Lifesaving, Environmental Science/Sustainability, Personal Management, Swimming/Hiking/Camping, Family Life, and Cooking; and

WHEREAS, this distinct honor requires fulfilling requirements in the areas of leadership, service, and outdoor preparedness, as well as advancing through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, and Life; and

WHEREAS, this achievement carries with it a special significance both within scouting and beyond, as an Eagle Scout moves on to higher education, business or industry, and the world at large; and

WHEREAS, the following 111 Delawareans achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 2018-2019:

NOW, THEREFORE:

BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 150th General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House concurring therein, that the class of 2018-2019 Eagle Scouts is hereby extended congratulations for having attained the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, and our best wishes in their future endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon passage, a suitably prepared copy of this resolution be presented to each Eagle Scout.

SYNOPSIS

This resolution congratulates the class 2018-2019 Eagle Scouts for having attained the highest rank one can earn in the Boy Scouts of America.
