SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1

TO

SENATE BILL NO. 22

AMEND Senate Bill No. 22 by inserting "or their assistants" on line 32 and on line 129 between "psychologists" and ",".

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 22 by inserting "or by a psychological assistant acting under the supervision of a psychologist" on line 59 and on line 156 between "practices" and ".".

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 22 by inserting "licensed professional counselors of mental health, licensed clinical social workers, advanced practice nurses," on line 34 and on line 131 between "supervision," and "or".

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 22 by deleting ", as will those working under the supervision of such providers" as it appears on lines 82 and 83 thereof and on lines 179 and 180.

FURTHER AMEND Senate Bill No. 22 by inserting "a 504 plan;" on line 92 and line 189 between "(IPE);" and "or".

SYNOPSIS

This Amendment clarifies that psychological assistants are a class of professionals authorized to provide care for autism spectrum disorders.This Amendment clarifies that licensed clinical social workers, licensed professional counselors of mental health and advanced practice nurses may provide care for autism spectrum disorders.It also removes an automatic meeting of standards for those working for nationally certified Board Certified Behavior Analysts.It also adds 504 plans to those plans which the Bill doesn't affect.
